An endpoint identifier (EID) is an IPv4 or IPv6 address. It is utilized to distinguish an endpoint on the network. Endpoint identifiers are explicitly utilized in Nimrod internetworking and routing architecture. These EIDs assist mark endpoints, a gateway where a locator gives the data about the topological location of the endpoint. Nimrod routing design, which deals with the flow of topological data being shared over an internetwork. Nimrod utilizes endpoint identifiers to characterize endpoints in the entire design.
