What is 3D (MIMO Three-dimensional MIMO)?

3D MIMO is Three dimensional Multiple Input Multiple Output which is an antenna related technology and it is considered as a practical technique for 5G NR (New Radio). To increase the data throughput it has from 32 upto 256 antenna elements at the transmitter site and 16 antenna elements at the receiver end. The deployment scenario for 3D MIMO is outdoor to indoor, urban area microcells and urban area macrocells. This technique is used in 5G technology in order to meet all the expectations of the fifth generation.
